Ex-employee charged with altering files

The Baltimore Sun

A Davidsonville man has been charged with deleting and altering files in his former company's computer system after being fired, state police said.

Investigators said Christopher R. Kayser, 40, used his employee passwords at McCullough Metro Motors in Marlow Heights to wreak havoc on files containing credit information about prospective buyers. Management contacted state police in November about the problem.

Kayser worked in the company's finance department until October 2007 and was connected to the crime through a review of computer files, police said.

He was charged Wednesday with two counts of illegally accessing and/or altering data on a computer. Each count is punishable by a maximum of five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Police investigate two robberies

Anne Arundel County police are investigating the robberies of a cab driver and a pizza deliverywoman Wednesday night in Pasadena and Hanover.

At 8:15 p.m. on Whitaker Road near Huff Court in Pasadena, police said, a cab driver picked up two passengers at Fast Laundry on Lincoln Court in Annapolis.

He drove them to the Freetown area of Pasadena, where the driver told police they each displayed a large kitchen knife and demanded money. The driver gave them an undetermined amount of cash and other property, and the armed men ran away.

At about 11 p.m., a Domino's Pizza delivery driver said she was robbed in the 7700 block of Fairbanks Court in Hanover.

The woman told police she was grabbed and struck in the face by a man armed with a knife and wearing a bandana over his face. She said the man took money, her jacket and her car keys before running away, police said.

No arrests have been made in either case.

Four charged in Pas adena burglary

Two women, a man and a 16-year-old have been charged with burglarizing a house in Pasadena and stealing $7,500 in property, Anne Arundel County police said.

Authorities said the break-in occurred before 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at a house in the 800 block of Mayer Ave., near Mountain Road. Police did not release details of what was taken.

About 5:30 p.m., police said, they executed a search warrant at a house in the 2200 block of 230th St., around the corner from the house that was burglarized. Inside, police said, they found the youth and three adults, along with two handguns, heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Charged with two counts of burglary and theft are Carrie Ann Dove, 34, of the 200 block of 230th St. in Pasadena; Amber Nichole Caldwell, 22, of the 7800 block of East Shore Road in Pasadena; and Joseph Ryan Rehmert, 20, also of the 7800 block of East Shore Road. The 16-year-old was charged as a juvenile with burglary.

Police said Dove and Caldwell were also charged with several drug-related offenses and that the suspects were being investigated in connection with other burglaries in Pasadena.

Couple charged in attempted auto theft

A Chesapeake Beach couple were arrested after the exhaust pipe of a pickup truck at a park-and-ride in Lothian was sawed, Anne Arundel County police said.

Detectives who were checking the lot at Lower Pindell Road and Route 4 about 11 a.m. Tuesday pulled up behind a blue Camaro that was blocking another vehicle. As he began to approach the female driver, a man emerged from under a nearby Toyota Tacoma and tossed a battery-operated saw into the back seat of the car.

The detectives checked under the truck and found that its exhaust pipe had been almost completely cut through near the catalytic converter.

Martin Joseph Baldwin, 50, and Tamara Lynn Baldwin, 44, of the 2900 block of Beaver Dam Road were arrested and charged with malicious destruction of property, attempted auto theft and auto tampering.

Three charged with drug offenses

A Columbia couple and an Odenton man were charged with drug offenses after narcotics detectives conducting surveillance saw a man selling drugs, Anne Arundel County police said.

The officers were preparing a search warrant for the home in the 500 block of Bruce Ave. on Feb. 22 when they saw a Toyota being parked in front and a hand-to-hand drug transaction in the driveway.

Robert Negron, 19, who is suspected of buying the drugs, threw the bag of marijuana under the car, and Dimitrius Winter, 19, of 1344 Chapelview Drive, who is suspected of selling the drugs, put several bags of marijuana and cocaine on the floor of that car, police said.

A female passenger who lives in the house, Kimberly Vickers, 19, was charged with drug possession.

The seized marijuana weighed 260 grams and is valued at $2,060. The seized cocaine weighed about 1.2 grams and is valued at $120.

Inside the house, detectives recovered a digital scale and packaging materials consistent with those found on Vickers, police said.
