Charles R. "Chuck" Serio Jr., a retired real estate salesman and broker, died in his sleep of pneumonia complications Saturday at the Stella Maris Hospice in Timonium. The Cockeysville resident was 80.
Born in Fredericksburg, Va. and raised in the Pimlico area, he attended Polytechnic Institute and joined the Navy at the end of World War II. He served in the Atlantic.
After the war he became a technical representative for the old Glenn L. Martin aircraft firm and worked on assignments in Europe and Asia.
In 1963, he changed careers and sold real estate for the Russell T. Baker Co. and then Long and Foster. He also had his own business, Charles R. Serio in Timonium. He retired more than 20 years ago.
He belonged to the St. Andrews Society and St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cockeysville.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today the Towson Ruck Funeral Home, 1050 York Road.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, the former Virginia Trotter; a son, Mark R. Serio of Cockeysville; two daughters, Dara E. Weigand of Davidsonville and Paige M. Crofton of Catonsville; and four grandchildren.
