HAYES OUT OF SHOOTING SLUMP ...

Sophomore guard Eric Hayes, who had made just five of 24 shots his previous three games, hit five of eight against Miami and went 3-for-5 on three-point attempts after shooting 4-for-13 in the previous three. ... AND GIST IN ONE

Since scoring a career-high 30 points in a win over North Carolina State two weeks ago, senior forward James Gist has been held to single digits twice and scored just 10 yesterday. He has shot a combined 12-for-36 in the past four games.

COMING ATTRACTION

The Terps play Thursday against Wake Forest at Lawrence Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem, N.C. The Demon Deacons, who have one of the youngest teams in the country, beat then-No. 2 Duke at home a week ago and have won three straight going into tonight's game at No. 3 North Carolina.
