Navy went cold in the final minutes of regulation yesterday and then in overtime before falling to Army, 70-66, in West Point, N.Y.
The Black Knights (17-10, 8-4 Patriot League) scored the final three points in regulation to tie the score, then had the final six points in overtime to seal the win.
Army's Cara Enright tied the score at 66 on a basket with 1:32 remaining in overtime, and Megan Evans' layup with 27 seconds left gave the Black Knights the lead for good. Enright had a team-high 15 points.
The Midshipmen (6-21, 2-10) have lost three of their past four games, by a combined 11 points. Cassie Consedine had 17 points and six rebounds for Navy, and K.C. Gordon added 16 points and six rebounds.
UMBC 66, New Hampshire 50 -- Senior guard Kristin Drabyn scored 18 of her game-high 24 points in the first half to help UMBC take a 42-20 lead at halftime, and the Retrievers (9-17, 5-8 America East Conference) defeated the host Wildcats (6-18, 3-9). Drabyn scored UMBC's first nine points on three three-pointers.
Morgan State 70, Howard 57 -- Shalane Price and Tamara Rogers scored 18 points apiece, and the host Bears (17-9, 9-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) defeated the Bison (3-22, 2-10). Morgan State opened the second half with a 6-0 run and scored 18 second-half points off turnovers.
Coppin State 63, Hampton 60 -- Whitney Cunningham's 18 points and 11 rebounds helped the Eagles (16-11, 10-3 MEAC) defeat the visiting Pirates (14-11, 7-5).
UMES 74, Florida A&M; 54 -- April McBride scored 27 points in the Hawks' rout of the visiting Rattlers (11-14, 2-11 MEAC). UMES (16-10, 9-4) shot 50 percent from the field in the second half while holding Florida A&M; to 28 percent.
Mount St. Mary's 84, St. Francis (Pa.) 72 -- Tiffany Green and Mary Dunn combined to score 33 second-half points, powering the Mountaineers (8-19, 6-10 Northeast Conference) past the host Red Flash (6-20, 3-12). With the score tied at 38 with 11:46 left, Mount St. Mary's went on a 19-8 run. Green sparked it with 10 points.
Johns Hopkins 69, Washington College 45 -- Andrea Dodrill had a double double with 17 points and a game-high 19 rebounds, and the host Blue Jays (12-12, 10-8 Capital Athletic Conference) defeated the Shorewomen (9-16, 6-12).
Salisbury 73, Hood 49 -- Lindsay Martin had 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Sea Gulls (11-14, 8-8 Capital Athletic Conference) past the host Blazers (5-19, 3-13).
St. Mary's 79, Wesley 71 -- Stephanie Saint-Aubin scored a game-high 27 points in the Seahawks' win over the host Wolverines (12-13, 8-8 Capital Athletic Conference). St. Mary's (18-7, 11-5) ended the regular season on a six-game winning streak.
