Weather-delayed wrestling reset for today

The Baltimore Sun

Yesterday's inclement weather wiped out a busy schedule of wrestling tournaments and basketball games throughout the area.

The opening day of county wrestling championships - in Anne Arundel (at Arundel); in Baltimore (at Parkville); in Howard (at Atholton); along with the Upper Chesapeake Bay Athletic Conference (at Aberdeen); and Baltimore City (at Lake Clifton) - were postponed until today.

The tournaments will be condensed in an attempt to complete them today.

The Anne Arundel tournament will begin at 9 a.m. with the finals tentatively set for 7:30 p.m. Baltimore County's will begin at 10 a.m. and might not be completed until Monday. Baltimore City is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. with no time determined for the finals. Howard is set to start at 9 a.m. with the finals tentatively set for 8 p.m. The UCBAC will start at 9 a.m. with no set time for the championship round.

Carroll County's tournament, which was originally set for today, has been moved to Monday and Tuesday with each day's action starting at 4 p.m.

The Baltimore County basketball championships, which had been set for last night, were rescheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Woodlawn boys will visit Randallstown, and the Randallstown girls will play at Catonsville.

In Howard County, the Mount Hebron girls will play host to Oakland Mills at 1 p.m. today; the Long Reach boys host River Hill at 11:30 a.m.; and the Howard boys host Hammond at 11 a.m.
