On February 18, 2008, DOUGLAS F. HAWKLAND, JR, age 88, of Aberdeen; husband of the late Marjorie Hawkinson; father of Douglas F. Hawkland, III and wife Nancy of Dayton, Thomas D. Hawkland, Sr., and wife Robin of Eldersburg and Wendy, of Delta, PA, wife of late son Michael D. Hawkland; brother of John Hawkland and wife Anne of Phoenix, AZ and the late William Hawkland; grandfather of Katie Hawkland of Dayton, Matt Hawkland of Ft. Bragg, NC, Erica and Thomas "Dean" Hawkland, Jr, both of Eldersburg. Mr. Hawkland was born in Maynard, MN and he was a graduate of University of MN. He was a district and division manager for Philips Petroleum. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Friends may call at the family owned Tarring-Cargo Funeral Home, 333 S. Parke Street, Aberdeen on Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 P.M. Funeral service will be held Saturday 11 A,.M. at Grove Presbyterian Church, 50 E. Belair Ave., Aberdeen.
