Dr. Dalliah Mashon Black, a breast surgeon, recently joined the staff of the Hoffberger Breast Center at Mercy Medical Center.

Black, a former professor of surgery at Yale School of Medicine, is a 1998 graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She interned at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia; did her residency at the University of North Carolina Hospitals at Chapel Hill; and completed a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Boston's Massachusetts General Hospital.

She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology.

Johns Hopkins Children's Center recently added Dr. Edward Ahn to its pediatric neurosurgery division.

Ahn also serves as an assistant professor of neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

He received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed undergraduate studies at Harvard University.

Ahn did his internship in general surgery and residency in neurosurgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He also finished a fellowship as the Shillito staff associate in pediatric neurosurgery at Children's Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School.

Ahn's focus at Hopkins Children's is on the surgical treatment of neurological disorders.

Jeffrey A. Wothers, the managing partner of Niles, Barton & Wilmer, has been appointed by Carroll Hospital Center's board of directors to the chair of the hospital's risk, audit and compliance committee.

Wothers' practice focuses on property insurance law, insurance coverage and commercial litigation. The Carroll County resident practices law in Maryland, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.
