Thomas S. Clark Jr., a retired regional sales manager and former Northwood resident, died of heart failure Feb. 12 at Franklin Square Hospital. He was 89.

Mr. Clark was born in Baltimore and raised in Ednor Gardens. He was a 1937 graduate of Polytechnic Institute.

During World War II, he enlisted in the Army Air Forces and served in Alaska and Europe as a navigator with the Technical Training Command. He attained the rank of staff sergeant and was recalled to active duty during the Korean War.

For nearly 40 years, he was regional manager in Baltimore for Miller-Hollander Sales, an auto parts company. He retired in 1984.

A resident of Oak Crest Village retirement community in Parkville for the past 16 years, Mr. Clark was an active member of the Lions Club and the Mount Washington Club.

He enjoyed reading and golf.

His wife of 40 years, the former Jean Forrest, died in 1992.

Services were held Monday.

Surviving are his wife of 13 years, the former Clare C. Rodemeyer; a son, Thomas S. Clark III of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Elizabeth E. Anderson of Salisbury; a stepson, Michael Rodemeyer of Baltimore; a stepdaughter, Teresa Aylsworth of Baltimore; a brother, George Clark of Louisville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
