Dona G. Mann, 78

Dona G. Mann, a homemaker and volunteer, died Friday at Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care after slipping and hitting her head on the ice last week at her Towson home. She was 78.

Dona Gene Taylor was born in Baltimore and raised in Hamilton. She was a 1947 graduate of Eastern High School.

In 1948, she married Joseph L. Mann, a charter boat captain, and lived in Towson for many years. He died in 2000.

Mrs. Mann volunteered from 1977 to 1987 at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends.

She also liked gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and visiting Ocean City.

Services for Mrs. Mann will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Lemmon Funeral Home, 10 W. Padonia Road, Timonium.

Surviving are five sons, Michael T. Mann and Matthew E. Mann of Towson, Curtis B. Mann of Ellicott City, David S. Mann of Hamilton and Thomas J. Mann of Columbia; and nine grandchildren. Another son, Robert F. Mann, died last year.
