THE ART OF THE MATTER

The American Craft Show in Baltimore -- one of the largest juried, indoor shows of its kind -- takes place tomorrow through Sunday at the Baltimore Convention Center. More than 700 artisans offer their handmade works, including jewelry, furniture, clothing and home decor. The event features eco-friendly, kid-oriented and innovative new-wave crafts.

Experts present demonstrations on various subjects, such as digital photography, painting, wood and glass. Erwin Timmer, of the Washington Glass School, shows how to reshape and reuse glass; Terry Todesco, of CrashintoEwe, explains how to paint yarn with dyes; and Baltimore Clayworks artists teach how to hand-build sculptures and print on clay.
