An article in yesterday's editions about the transition from analog to digital TV broadcasts in 2009 inadvertently omitted a box containing information about obtaining government coupons to help pay for converter boxes. About 21 million American households that do not have cable, satellite or fiber-optic TV service will be affected. Here's the information you'll need:

WHO NEEDS A CONVERTER? Households that use "rabbit ears" or a rooftop antenna to receive broadcasts on an older, analog TV will need a converter box for each set. Converters are expected to cost $40 to $100, depending on features.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR COUPONS? Each U.S. household can apply for two $40 coupons to be used separately to purchase a TV converter box. Applications must include a home address - forms that use a post office box as the address will be rejected.

WHERE TO REDEEM COUPONS Coupons can be used to purchase converter boxes from certified retailers nationwide. Consumers will receive a list of nearby retailers with their coupons or can search online at https:--www.dtv2009.gov/VendorSearch.aspx. The coupons are valid for 90 days after receiving them and only on boxes approved by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
