Edward T. Faust, a retired electrician and longtime Glen Burnie resident, died Tuesday of cerebral vascular disease at the Genesis HealthCare Hammonds Lane Center. He was 74.
Mr. Faust was born in Nyack, N.Y., and raised in Turners Station. After graduating from Sollers Point High School in 1952, he served in the Army for two years, attaining the rank of corporal.
Mr. Faust worked for 42 years as an electrician at Bethlehem Steel Corp.'s Sparrows Point plant before retiring in 1992.
He was an avid gardener, boater, fisherman and collector of Hess Oil Co. model trucks.
"His lawn was his pride and joy, and he worked on it every day," said a granddaughter, Keisha R. Dotson of Alexandria, Va. "He also liked working on his car and changing the oil of his car, his kids' and grandchildren's cars."
Services for Mr. Faust will be held at noon tomorrow at Union Baptist Church, 105 Main St., Turners Station.
Also surviving are his wife of 54 years, the former Sandra Tilghman; a son, Wayne A. Faust of Millersville; two daughters, Paula P. Faust of Glen Burnie and Sheila A. Rogers of Baltimore; five other grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
