Officials investigating Annapolis homicide

The Baltimore Sun

Annapolis homicide detectives investigating the fatal shooting Saturday of a Severna Park man found in his car in a public housing complex were back-tracking the man's movements to learn why he was in the area and with whom, police said.

Hal Dalton, a spokesman for the Annapolis police, said the victim's name was being withheld pending notification of family members.

About 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Annapolis police responding to shots fired in the 1300 block of Tyler Ave. in Robinwood found the man in a car and bleeding from at least one gunshot wound.

He said the victim was airlifted by a state police helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he died about three hours later.

It was the third homicide in Annapolis this year, Dalton said.

On Jan. 18, a man and a woman were shot to death in an apartment on Bens Drive near Forest Drive outside Annapolis.

Anyone with information about the latest slaying is urged to call police at 410-268-9000.
