Linkin Park finds right 'Minutes' to shine

The Baltimore Sun

It was time for the guys of Linkin Park to grow up.

In the early part of the decade, they sold millions of albums scorching with angst-ridden songs of tormented love and alienation. It was music -- a fusion of buzzing metal and swaggering hip-hop -- that appealed mostly to teens and college freshmen. But on Minutes to Midnight, Linkin Park's latest album and first release in four years, the Los Angeles sextet largely trades fury for melody.

If you go Linkin Park performs at 7 p.m. Tuesday at 1st Mariner Arena, 201 W. Baltimore St. Tickets are $38.50-$54. Call 410-547-7328 or go to ticketmaster.com.
