In 2005, my wife, daughter and I visited my son, who was teaching in Qufu, China, and as part of the trip we spent a week in Shanghai. Just southwest of Renmin Square, we toured the French Concession, visiting the former residences of Zhou Enlai and Sun Yat-sen, as well as the beautiful Xintiandi shopping area. We then headed to the Old City, where this picture was taken of one of the shops that line the small streets in the antiques market and bazaar area of the Xizang Zhong Lu.
