Loyola drops opener to Heels, 13-9

Loyola's Kate Filippelli scored the first goal of the game, but host North Carolina scored the next four and went on to defeat the visiting Greyhounds, 13-9, yesterday.

Grace Gavin had three goals for Loyola (0-1). Mary Heneberry and Elizabeth Weber each had one.

The Tar Heels (1-0) were paced by Chelsea Parks, who had four goals and an assist, and Megan Bosica, who had three goals and two assists.
