The Baltimore Sun

The North County boys basketball team held off No. 14 Broadneck's second-half rally yesterday to earn a 58-54 win.

North County (11-6) started strong and looked to be in control of the game, building a 10-point lead by halftime.

The Bruins (13-6) fought back in the second half, however, and cut the lead to six points after three periods and later down to three with a minute left in the game.

The Knights sealed the win at the free-throw line, where David Ford, who finished with 13 points, went 4-for-4 in the final minute.

Demetrio Fleet had 19 points to lead the Knights. Kevin Hunt had 25 points and 12 rebounds to pace the Bruins.

No. 10 Old Mill 69, South River 46 -- The Patriots (17-2) rebounded from a slow start to defeat the host Seahawks (5-13). Brandon Riley scored all 23 of his points in the second half to help the Patriots put the game away. Deonte Puller added seven points for Old Mill.
