GreenConnected hires executive
Andrew Buck has been hired by GreenConnected as the company's executive vice president and chief technology officer.
The company operates www.greenconnected.com, a Web site helping companies, nonprofit organizations and consumers find vendors and resources to go green.
Buck will manage the technical components of the site, updating content, incorporating new features and trouble-shooting. He will also provide assistance to the site's partners and vendors, and assist in creating elements for the site.
The Columbia resident is a software engineer with experience in Web site programming, submarine simulators, aircraft monitoring, unmanned aerial vehicle photography and myoelectric prosthetic limbs.
2 from Arc finish training program
Linda Lombardi, assistant director of residential services for The Arc of Howard County, and Brenda Sackandy, director of Family and Individual Support Services for The Arc, completed a two-year statewide training program for managers serving people with cognitive and developmental disabilities.
Started by a group of parents in 1961 as an advocacy and support group for people with cognitive and developmental disabilities and their families, The organization has grown to become one of Howard County's largest employers.
PNC official heads nonprofit's board
Lisa H.R. Hayes, senior wealth planner and vice president at PNC Bank, has been elected president of the board of Family and Children's Services of Central Maryland, a private nonprofit and nonsectarian social services organization.
The Hanover resident, who earned a master's degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina, is co-author of a column in Estate Planning magazine.
Herbert C. Buchanan, senior vice president and chief operating officer of University of Maryland Medical Center, has joined the nonprofit's board.
A Columbia resident, he earned a bachelor of science degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan and in hospital and health service management from Northwestern University.
