Loyola women stop St. Peter's rally

Host Loyola built a 20-point second-half lead yesterday and held off a rally by Saint Peter's to win, 75-72.

Vika Sholokhova had 17 points and 10 rebounds off the bench, and Siobhan Prior and Candice Walker each scored 15 for the Greyhounds (10-13, 5-8 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).

Saint Peter's fell to 16-8, 8-5.

James Madison 79, Towson 52 -- The Tigers (15-7, 7-4 Colonial Athletic Association) lost their third straight and did not have a double-digit scorer. Dawn Evans scored 25 points for the host Dukes (16-6, 9-2).

Men

Juniata 72, Goucher 62 -- The visiting Gophers (6-15, 4-7 Landmark Conference) shot 58 percent in the first half and trailed 30-29 but shot 42 percent in the second half. Miguel Negron scored 12 points for Goucher. The Eagles improved to 14-8, 7-4.
