Hazard: The recalled glue guns can short-circuit, causing the gun to smoke and catch fire. This poses fire, burn and shock hazards to consumers. Sold at: Dollar Tree, Dollar Bill$, Dollar Express, Greenbacks, Only One $1, and Deal$ stores nationwide from February 2007 through August 2007 for about $1. Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled glue guns and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund. Name of product: Car charging units included with L.L. Bean Raised Insta air beds Units: About 3,900 Importer: The Wenzel Co. of St. Louis, Miss. Hazard: If the car charger is plugged in while the engine is running, the battery-charging unit could overheat and burst. This can pose an injury hazard to consumers. Sold at: L.L. Bean stores nationwide and through the catalog from June 2007 through August 2007 for about $150. Remedy: Consumers should stop using the car charging unit immediately and contact L.L. Bean for instructions on how to obtain a free replacement car charging unit. Only the charger units supplied with this product should be used. Hazard: The hearts and cars on the teethers can break off, posing a choking hazard to infants. Sold at: Independent infant clothing boutiques nationwide from February 2005 through September 2006 for about $50. Name of product: Girls' hooded jackets Units: About 14,000 Distributor: AJBlue LLC, dba Apollo Jeans of New York Hazard: The jackets have a drawstring through the hood which poses a strangulation hazard for children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist by drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts. Sold exclusively at: Marshalls Stores nationwide from August 2007 through November 2007 for about $15. Remedy: Consumers should immediately remove the drawstring from the jacket's hood to eliminate the hazard, or return it for a full refund to either the place of purchase or Apollo Jeans. Hazard: Paint on the products contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. Sold by: SRA, Wright Group and Glencoe to schools nationwide from July 2003 through October 2007. Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled products away from children and contact RR Donnelley for information on returning the products for a free replacement item.
