Maryland will open its 2008 football season at Byrd Stadium on Aug. 30 against Delaware, which went to last year's Football Championship Subdivision title game.

It will be the first of seven home games for the Terps, who finished 6-7 last season after losing to Oregon State in the Emerald Bowl at AT&T; Park in San Francisco.

Maryland will start a home-and-home series with another Pacific-10 team, California, in College Park on Sept. 13.

The Terps will play one Thursday night game, at Virginia Tech on Nov. 6.
