You don't need to be caught outdoors in subfreezing temperatures to get into trouble with hypothermia. Two elderly Maryland women have died in their homes this winter because indoor temperatures got too low. People older than 60, or younger than 1 year, have the most difficulty regulating their body heat when temperatures in their homes go below 69 degrees. Check on your aging relatives and neighbors. Make sure they have working furnaces and plenty of heat. And let's put some hats on those babies.
