Burglary/arrests -- Officer Scott Maas was patrolling in the rear of several auto repair shops in the 11200 block of Pulaski Highway about 1:20 a.m. Sunday when he observed two men in a truck. Because earlier burglaries had occurred at the same location, police detained the men. From the truck, Maas and other officers recovered several catalytic converters that moments earlier had been removed from at least six other nearby vehicles, police said. Also recovered was a quantity of marijuana. Charged with multiple counts of theft from autos and possession of marijuana were two West Baltimore men, Wesley Shears, 41, of the 1800 block of Dover St. and David Conn, 39, of the 100 block of S. Carlton Ave.
Carjacking -- A male motorist, 20, was stopped in the 1700 block of Old Eastern Ave. about 10 p.m. Saturday when a passenger in a car that stopped next to him got out armed with a handgun and forced the victim from his Buick LeSabre. The carjacker drove off, followed by the other car. The Buick was recovered a short time later on Woodman's Court. No arrests had been made.
