The Harper's Choice Community Association and Kidstreet News will sponsor the 25th annual Camp Expo from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 10 at Kahler Hall, 5440 Old Tucker Row, Columbia.
Representatives from local, and regional day and overnight camps will attend. Families with children are welcome (no strollers are allowed); children's activities are planned.

County to hold job fair for teachers
The Howard County Public School System's Comprehensive Teacher Job Fair will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 3 at the Kossiakoff Center, Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, 11100 Johns Hopkins Road, North Laurel.
The fair is open to anyone seeking employment as a certified teacher, behavior specialist, school counselor, physical therapist, speech-language pathologist or occupational therapist.

Work session on budget Tuesday
The Howard County Board of Education will hold a public work session on the Superintendent's Proposed 2009 Operating Budget from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday in the boardroom at the Department of Education, 10910 Route 108, Ellicott City. A public work session on the budget will also be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 in the boardroom.
A regularly scheduled meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the same location.
The afternoon session and an evening session, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will start with a forum where members of the public can address the board on any topic for which there is no formal public hearing process. Sign-up in advance is preferred.

HCC offers help with aid forms
Howard Community College's office of Financial Aid Services invites students and their parents to receive free hands-on assistance in completing the 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The Financial Aid Spotlight will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Kittleman Room of the English, Languages & Business Building (ELB-100) on the college campus, 10901 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia.
Applying early helps maximize the financial aid that students are eligible to receive.
Those who attend the session should bring a pre-application worksheet, PIN, Social Security number, 2007 W-2 statements, 2007 federal income tax returns and 2007 untaxed income records (such as Social Security, TANF, or VA benefits).

Event to honor Black History
The Howard County NAACP Youth Council will hold a fashion show commemorating Black History Month at 6 p.m. Feb. 17 at Ridgelys Run Community Center, 8400 Mission Road, Jessup.
The event will focus on the theme "Remembering Our Past and Springing Forward." Youth council members will recognize African-American history-makers of Howard County.
