The Sexual Assault/Spouse Abuse Resource Center Inc. will hold a SARC helper training class for individuals who are interested in becoming volunteers in the office and with special projects.
Training classes will be offered from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 and again on March 18. Those interested should call for an application and to set up an interview.
This training does not involve working with clients. Shifts may vary and are flexible.
SARC is Harford County's nonprofit service for victims of domestic and sexual violence, as well as stalking.

Bel Air seeks entrants for sculpture contest
The Town of Bel Air's Department of Planning and Community Development has created a sculpture contest and is soliciting proposals from local artists to produce a 3-D weather-resistant outdoor sculpture for permanent public display in the town.
The contest is being held in collaboration with the Economic and Community Development Commission and the Bel Air Cultural Arts Commission.
The town would like to bring more public art to the downtown landscape and hopes the sculpture contest, titled "Bel Air's Heritage," will become a yearly event.

A request for proposal with a full description of the project requirements will be forwarded upon request. The packages will be available until 4:30 p.m. Feb. 22.
Humane society joins nutrition program
The Humane Society of Harford County has announced that it has joined Hill's Pet Nutrition Inc.'s Shelter Nutrition Partnership Program.
Through this program, Hill's supplies the humane society with unlimited amounts of its Hill's Science Diet pet foods and only charges the society for shipping costs. The humane society will be standardizing its animals' diets by feeding them only Hill's wet and dry food.
Being on one brand of food helps to prevent intestinal problems in the animals that can occur from being fed many different donated brands.
Donations of food from the public must now be from Hill's Pet Nutrition's product line; however, donations of cat and dog treats, dog biscuits, rawhides, chews, etc., can come from other brands.
Any donations of food that are not Hill's brand will become part of the humane society's new food pantry to help families who need help in providing food for their pets.
Besides food, the humane society always needs animal accessories, toys, sweaters, cat litter and cages. Standard office supplies are also welcome.
