Cecil College is offering a "Prepare to be a Travel Agent" course that will meet from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays Feb. 5 to March 6 at Hill Travel in North East.
This entry-level course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of the travel industry.
Tuition is $165, and the course fee is $70.
Students who complete the class will be eligible to enroll in "Automation for the Travel Agent," a second-level course beginning March 11.

Information session on allied health jobs
Cecil College is offering a free information session about training options for careers in the allied health field from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Room 327 of Elkton Station, 107 Railroad Ave.
The college offers full- and part-time training programs for medical assistants and receptionists, medical coders/billers, dental assistants, certified medicine aides, certified nursing assistants, phlebotomists and medical transcriptionists.

Open house for HCC Kids
Harford Community College will hold an open house for its HCC Kids program from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday in Joppa Hall, Room 104, on the Bel Air campus.
Parents and children can meet the preschool teachers, learn about the curriculum and register for fall preschool classes.
Tuition includes a balanced snack and all materials. All children must be toilet-trained. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Programs are available two days a week for 3-year-olds, and three days a week for 4-year-olds.

ESL advising, classes offered
Harford Community College will offer English as a Second Language advising.
ESL is for foreign-born people 16 years of age or older who would like to improve English communication skills, including listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Advising sessions will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at HCC; 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Edgewood High School; 10 a.m. Friday at Aberdeen Community Center; 6:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at Bel Air Middle School; and 10 a.m. Feb. 14 at Edgewood Public Library.
Free beginning and intermediate classes begin every six weeks. Attendance at an advising session is required for entry into the classes.

Women's conference planned for Feb. 16
Harford Community College will hold the "Express Yourself! New Visions for Women" conference to address how women express themselves to others.
The conference will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Feb. 16 in the college's Edgewood Hall. The cost is $30 and includes continental breakfast, lunch and workshops.
Sun columnist Susan Reimer will be the keynote speaker. Guest speakers will also hold workshops throughout the day.

Dinner to mark PTA Founder's Day
The Harford County Council of PTA Inc. will hold a Founder's Day dinner and awards ceremony on Feb. 21.
The event, part of a nationwide celebration of the founding of the PTA 111 years ago, will be held at 6 p.m. in the Patterson Mill Middle/High School cafeteria.
Two Lifetime Achievement Awards will also be presented.
Tickets are $5 and include dinner, beverages and dessert. Reservations are requested by Friday.

Harford Community College is offering private music lessons for a variety of instruments, including voice, guitar, piano and percussion.
