It's Groundhog Day, so they'll be dragging that lame old woodchuck out of his hole again for the TV cameras. It's also Candlemas, an old Catholic feast day and candlelight procession to mark Jesus' presentation at the Temple 40 days after his birth. That holiday Christianized older pagan celebrations. In Celtic lands, this was Imbolc, a festival to celebrate lactating sheep (Celts didn't have enough to do) and the midway point between the winter solstice and the vernal equinox. Spring is coming.
