Gregory David Moore, coordinator of special events for the Orioles, died Friday of undetermined causes at his Columbia home. He was 30.

"We are waiting for the cause of death pending an autopsy," his father, David J. Moore of Edgewater, said yesterday.

Gregory Moore was born in Kennesaw, Ga., and raised in Greensboro, Caroline County. He was a 1996 graduate of North Caroline High School in Ridgely and earned a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Towson University in 2000.

An avid baseball fan, Mr. Moore worked as an events coordinator for the Orioles and the Houston Astros between 1997 and 2002. He had also been an NBC page and a production assistant for Fox News Corp.

Last year, he returned to the Orioles and was a coordinator of special events at his death.

Mr. Moore enjoyed participating in fantasy sports leagues and cooking. He was also an animal lover.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis.

Also surviving are his wife of two years, Karen Nola Male of Schenectady, N.Y.; his mother, Jayne E. Moore of Edgewater; a sister, Courtney Nikole Moore of Annapolis; and paternal grandmother, Kathryn Moore of Smyrna, Del.
