Carousel Rogues

The Baltimore Sun

Hometown -- Frederick

Current members --Caitlin Nethery, rhythm guitar, vocals; Zachary Anselmo, lead guitar, vocals; Patrick Fulford, drums; Courtney Cromartie, keyboards; John Cromartie, bass

Founded in --2006

Style --garage rock

Influenced by --the Shins, Eisley, Pedro the Lion, Elliott Smith

Notable --All of the songs for a future full-length album are written. Now, the band just has to work on the arrangements and presentation, Nethery said. They hope to get started by the end of the year.

Quotable --"The longer we're together, the more the music becomes a little bit darker and a little bit more mature," Nethery said. "We really like the sound of a lot of bands from the early '90s that are really grungy and have a garage-rock sound, which is what we sound like live. We'd like to stick with that for an album."

See Carousel Rogues tonight at the Ottobar, 2549 N. Howard St. Doors open at 9 p.m. The music starts at 9:30 p.m. Judd and Maggie and Steve Hefter and Friends of Friends will also perform. Call 410-662-0069 or go to theottobar.com. The band: myspace.com/carouselrogues.
