COLLEGE PARK -- Maryland gave fourth-ranked Duke its biggest deficit of the season and a huge scare in the first half. In the end, though, the Terrapins couldn't give the Blue Devils what a sellout crowd at Comcast Center wanted most: Duke's first loss of the Atlantic Coast Conference season.

Quickly overcoming a nine-point halftime deficit and eventually turning it into a nine-point lead, the Blue Devils held off a late rally by the Terps and held on for a 93-84 victory. It prevented Maryland from scoring two top-5 upsets in eight days. The Terps beat then-No. 1 North Carolina in Chapel Hill on Jan. 19.
