Brooklyn pizzeria robbed at gunpoint

A Brooklyn pizzeria was robbed at gunpoint, Anne Arundel County police said.

An employee of the Little Caesar's Pizza at 5636 Ritchie Highway told police that two men came in around 10 p.m. Wednesday, displayed a handgun and demanded the money from the register. The suspects fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Glen Burnie man faces drug, weapons charges

A Glen Burnie man was arrested on drug and weapons charges after a monthlong investigation into drug activity at his home, Anne Arundel County police said.

Police raided the Baylor Road home of Michael Allen Rich, 45, around 9:30 p.m. Monday and seized various amounts of PCP, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, as well as a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun and a .22 caliber rifle.

Rich was charged with possession of marijuana, PCP and drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of a firearm.

Restaurant deliveryman held up at gunpoint

A deliveryman for a Chinese restaurant was robbed at gunpoint in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County police said.

The driver was making a delivery on the 6500 block of Bricktown Circle about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday when a masked man approached, pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded the food and money. The victim complied and the robber fled on foot.

Man steals car idling in woman's driveway

A man stole a 76-year-old woman's car as it was warming up in her driveway, even after she confronted the thief, Annapolis police said.

The woman said she had started her 1998 gold Chevrolet Malibu about9:30 a.m. Sunday and gone back inside, when she noticed a man approach and get into the car. She went out to stop him, but he drove off.

Woman shoplifts sheets, threatens store clerk

A woman shoplifted a $140 set of bedsheets from an Annapolis store and threatened the clerk who followed her outside, Annapolis police said.

The woman stole the Calvin Klein sheets from a display at Tuesday Morning, 123 Hillsmere Drive, around 10:24 Monday, stuffed them under her jacket and left without paying, police said.

An employee followed her outside the store and called to her. The thief turned and told her that she had better "stop right there if you know what is good for you." The clerk then retreated to the store and called police.

The thief was black, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds, with long braided hair. She was wearing a black leather jacket, brown pants, and brown knee high boots. She got into the passenger side of a silver late-model car with Washington tags.

Four arrested on drug charges, police say

Four people were arrested on the same block of Bowman Court in Annapolis after city police said they watched two drug deals in 20 minutes.

Police who reported watching a woman exit the passenger side of a 2001 white Nissan on the 1800 block of Bowman Court buy drugs from a man around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday arrested the driver, Jinseri Cecelia Hansberry, 49, of Captain's Circle, for driving on a suspended license, and the passenger, Mary Elizabeth Brown, 43, of Silopanna Road, for possession of cocaine.

At 8:34 p.m., officers who reported seeing a man get out of a 2000 green Ford Focus buy drugs from a teenager quickly arrested the driver, Dwayne Rene McGowan, 51, of Croll Drive and charged him with possession of cocaine.

One of the sellers involved, a 16-year-old boy from the 600 block of Island Creek Court, was arrested and charged with trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to distribute drugs.

Both cars were seized for forfeiture.

Sex offender charged with failure to register

A convicted sex offender was charged with failure to register his address after police spotted him on West Washington Street, Annapolis police said.

Anne Arundel County police had issued a warrant for Barry Deon Miller, 45, who was convicted of second-degree rape in 1983 and is required to have an updated listing on the state's sex offender registry.

He had not reported his change of address after moving earlier this month, when police arrested him around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
