Energetic and in step with past dance flicks

The Baltimore Sun

How She Move sure has got the moves. And even if we've seen so many of them before, its young cast delivers the goods with such gusto and drive that the familiarity breeds more enjoyment than contempt.

Newcomer Rutina Wesley is Raya, a teenager determined to escape the dead-end world of drugs and shattered dreams that has already claimed the life of her sister. Blessed with brains and a serious work ethic, she's been thriving at an exclusive boarding school, with her eye set on an Ivy League university and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

How She Move (Paramount Vantage) Starring Rutina Wesley, Dwain Murphy, Tre Armstrong. Directed by Ian Iqbal Rashid. Rated PG-13. Time 91 minutes.
