Workshop for care givers Feb. 7
Bon Secours Spiritual Center, 1525 Marriottsville Road, Marriottsville, will offer a workshop for professional health care providers, chaplains, spiritual directors and others who comfort those who are dying, "Returning to Yourself in the Midst of Caregiving," from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 7.
The workshop will focus on fears, assumptions and expectations that distance caregivers from the people they seek to help.
Ruut to perform at Unitarian Universal ist
Singer-songwriter Ruut will perform at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbia's One World Coffeehouse. The concert will be held at Owen Brown Interfaith Center, 7246 Cradlerock Way, Columbia. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $12; $6 for students.
Talks to focus on dif ferent religions
Beth Shalom Congregation, 8070 Harriet Tubman Lane, Columbia, will offer a series of talks by Rabbi Susan Grossman, "A Study in Comparative Religions from a Jewish Perspective," at 7:45 p.m. Tuesdays, next week through Feb. 19.
The topic for the first session will be "What Can Jews Believe about Moses and other Religions?"
"Share Roots and Clear Boundaries: What Can We Believe About Jesus?" is the topic for Feb. 5. The cost is $20 for Beth Shalom members; $28 for nonmembers.
Afternoon of music at Oakland Mills
The Oakland Mills Interfaith Center will present an afternoon of musical performances by congregations that make their home at the Meeting House and Bet Yeladim School. The theme is "Celebrate Community: Songs of Love and Praise." The program will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday in Room 200 of the interfaith center, 5885 Robert Oliver Drive, Columbia.
