Rita Cinnamond, a homemaker and bridge player, died of stroke complications Sunday at her Timonium home. She was 81.

Born Katherine Rita Guckert in Baltimore and raised on Garrison Avenue, she attended St. Ambrose Parochial School and was a 1944 Institute of Notre Dame graduate. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Mount St. Agnes College in Mount Washington.

As a young woman, she worked in a chemical analysis laboratory.

In 1948, she married Thomas E. Cinnamond, a Semmes Bowen & Semmes attorney, who died last year.

Mrs. Cinnamond, who was a member of the Three Arts Club of Homeland, played bridge at the Baltimore, Rehoboth Beach and Lago Mar County country clubs.

A memorial Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 101 Church Lane, Cockeysville.

Survivors include three daughters, Patty Best of Radnor, Pa., Mary Jo Borders of Tell City, Ind., and Katie Doyle of Bernardsville, N.J.; and seven grandchildren.
