The lowdown -- Chamber Music by Candlelight, showcasing Baltimore Symphony Orchestra musicians and their friends, remains one of the most rewarding concert series in the area. Sunday's presentation offers the Clarinet Quintet by Brahms; the String Quartet No. 1 by Leos Janacek; Stephen Funk Pearson's Mountain Moon for violin and guitar; and Sonata for Two Violins by Miklos Rozsa.

Out of the Box

The lowdown -- The Rep Stage will perform George Bernard Shaw's once-censored Mrs. Warren's Profession, through Feb. 24 at Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center's Black Box Theatre at Howard Community College. The play focuses on Vivie Warren, who learns that her privileged life stems from her mother's occupations as a brothel-owner and a former prostitute.

Jazz it up

The lowdown -- The high-school musicians of the All-State Jazz Band perform their annual concert at Towson University's Harold J. Kaplan Concert Hall on Saturday.
