As reported Jan. 17, 1988, in The Howard Sun:
A walking bridge would span Columbia's Lake Kittamaqundi, and a park and pathways would be built east of the lake under a Columbia Association plan.
CA unveiled the plan Thursday night as part of a proposed $2.6 million capital budget CA President Padraic M. Kennedy presented to the Columbia Council for the non-profit association's next budget year, which begins May 1.
The budget proposal includes $37,5000 to pay for the design, engineering and permits for a garden, landscaping, lighting, and grading of the east side of the lake.
But CA is also counting on getting County Council approval for $50,000 in county money to be spent for planning for the pathways and bridge. The council votes on the county budget this spring.
