JAMES ROLAND JONES, a 35-year resident of Columbia, Maryland, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 of cardiac arrest while receiving cancer treatment. Survived by wife Vicki Thompson-Jones; brother J. Thomas Jones; sons Kevin (September) and Raymond Jones; stepsons Gregory (Emily) and Russell (Heather) Thompson; and grandchildren Noelani and Kainoa Jones, Katherine Thompson, and Olivia and Rafael Thompson. Jim was a graduate of McDaniel College and Johns Hopkins. After teaching English at Dundalk HS, he worked in the tire business for more than 40 years, 10 of those as general manager of Reliable Tire Sales. A Gathering will be held Saturday, January 19 at 3 pm at Kittamaqundi Community, 5410 Leaf Treader Way, Columbia, MD 21044. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
