Ladysmith Black Mambazo

The Baltimore Sun

Catch South African a cappella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall on Wednesday night. The all-male chorus has won two Grammy Awards and recorded with various artists, including Paul Simon, Josh Groban and Stevie Wonder. Isicathamiya, the traditional music sung by the group, was inspired by songs that poor South African miners used to sing to keep up their morale while they worked and lived far from their homes and families. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20-$50. The Meyerhoff is at 1212 Cathedral St. Call 410-547-7328 or go to tick etmaster.com.
