Workshop for small businesses

The Baltimore Sun

Several Anne Arundel County legislators and Merge Business Development Systems Inc. will host a workshop Wednesday to discuss ways small businesses in Maryland can compete for government contracts during the military job expansion at Fort Meade.

Dels. Mary Ann Love and Donald H. Dwyer Jr. of Glen Burnie, Del. Nicholaus R. Kipke of Pasadena and Merge officials say they hope BRAC Symposium II will encourage government agencies to meet their small-business requirements for contracting dollars.

Small-business owners can meet contractors and federal, state and county procurement officers, and learn more about procurement and security clearances.

The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the joint legislative hearing room in the Legislative Services Building in Annapolis. Reservations are required.
