Four Rivers: The Heritage Area of Annapolis, London Town & South County is accepting applications for two grants.

The Maryland Heritage Areas Authority matching grants of up to $100,000 are available through Four Rivers for projects that include historical, cultural and natural resources and have a heritage tourism component.

Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations and local jurisdictions.

Application packages are available at www.marylandhistoricaltrust.net. The Four Rivers Heritage Area office in the Arundel Center, 44 Calvert St. in Annapolis, must receive the completed application package with 15 copies by March 7.

MHAA awards will be announced in July.

Since beginning operations in 2001, the Four Rivers Heritage Area has brought $1.7 million in matching MHAA grant funds.

Four Rivers also offers competitive mini-grants of up to $2,500 for projects within the heritage area that incorporate regional historic, cultural, and natural resources, collaborative partnerships, and the heritage area's regional interpretive themes.

Criteria and application information are available at www.fourriversheritage.org or by calling the Four Rivers Heritage Area office.

The deadline for submission of mini-grant applications, plus five copies, in this grant round is March 7. Awards will be announced about a month later.
