JOAN E. (Blevins) WILSON, 72, of Freeland, died January 5, 2008 in York Hospital, York, PA. She was the wife of the late A. Morris Wilson; mother of Larry A. Wilson, Gary P. Wilson and Robin M. Wood; grandmother of Jason, Wesley and Mindy Wilson, Christie Pahl, Danielle Wood, Daniel Wood, Jr., and Cory Cotton; great grandmother of Vida A. Wilson. She is also survived by one brother, James Blevins and his wife, Rosalie, one sister, Faye Stewart, and one sister-in-law, Doris Blevins. She was the daughter of the late Paul M. and Annis V. (Robbins) Blevins. She is preceded in death by one brother, Howard Blevins. Joan was an assembler for Black & Decker in Hampstead for 10 years. She attended Bentley Springs United Methodist Church, Parkton. For years, Joan served as President of American Legion Ladies Auxillary, Parkton Post 256. She was a former team recreational counselor for the 6th District. Joan loved to travel and visit her sons in Fl., and Ohio. A funeral service will begin at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 Second Street, New Freedom, PA, with interment in Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Freeland. Friends may call, Tuesday, January 8 , 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 256, 19520 York Road, Parkton, MD 21120.
