Even adults get a kick out of 'Puss in Boots'

The Baltimore Sun

A theater normally reminds its audience to be quiet during the show, but a program note for Theatre Project's latest production states: "Audience interaction is essential to pantomime, so forget all the normal rules of behavior."

Considering how many lively children were in the audience for a recent performance of the British pantomime-style Puss in Boots, this served as an invitation for kids and parents alike to abandon theatrical etiquette. It's a family-oriented show that openly courts giggling, cheering, hissing, clapping, whistling, prancing and tap dancing.

If you go Puss in Boots runs at Theatre Project, 45 W. Preston St., through Sunday. Showtimes are 7 p.m. through Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. $12-$25. Call 410-752-8558 or go to missiontix.com.
