Acquisitions
BAE Systems, a Rockville defense and aerospace company, acquired MTC Technologies Inc. of Dayton, Ohio, a provider of technical and professional services and equipment integration to the military and intelligence services, for approximately $450 million in cash and debt.
Contracts
American Hose & Coupling Corp. of Glen Burnie was awarded a five-year contract worth about $1 million by Northrop-Grumman to provide fittings and hose for the U.S. Postal Service biological detection system project.
Expansion
KCI Technologies Inc. of Hunt Valley announced the formation of a new subsidiary, KCI Protection Technologies LLC, which will provide specialized engineering services for security, fire protection, life safety, emergency management and risk analysis. The new company was formed through the acquisition of Risk Management Consultants Inc. of Delaware and is headed by its former president, John C. Fannin III.
