Outlook -- Can the Eagles' defense, ranked first in the Bowl Subdivision against the run (68.1 yards allowed per game), stop the Spartans' rushing at tack of junior speedster Javon Ringer (1,346 yards, 6.0 yards per carry) and senior bruiser Jehuu Caulcrick (813 yards rushing, 21 rushing touch downs)? This will be the final college game for Boston College senior and reigning Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year Matt Ryan (4,258 passing yards, 28 touchdown passes). The Spartans will need to get pressure from senior DE Ervin Baldwin (7 1/2 sacks), especially because the team's top pass rusher, senior DE Jonal Saint-Dic (10 sacks), has been declared aca demically ineligible for this game.
