KWANZAA TRADITIONS
See a dance by the group Kulu Mele -- which performs to a mix of music from Ghana, Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, Senegal, Nigeria and Guinea -- at the Baltimore Museum of Art's Kwanzaa Family Day on Sunday. In addition, there will be storytelling from Charlotte Blake Alston and a workshop with Nigerian artist Jimoh Buraimoh.

THE WORDS OF DOUGLASS
Kwanzaa celebrations continue at the Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum with the unveiling of the new North Star exhibit. The North Star was the abolitionist newspaper produced by Frederick Douglass in the mid-1800s, and rare copies of the paper will be on view. In addition to the exhibit, mark the seven principles of Kwanzaa with storytelling and craft activities.

WALK THE WALK
Celebrate the end of 2007 and the beginning of 2008 with the Freestate Happy Wanderers. The group is hosting walks Monday and Tuesday in Columbia -- walkers can choose a 6K trail or one of two 11K trails, most of which are on pathways.

Walks start and finish at the Owen Brown Community Center, 6800 Cradlerock Way, Columbia. Walkers can start between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and finish by 4 p.m. either day. SKATING DOLLS
Kids should bring their favorite doll or action figure to the city's 67th annual Doll Show, taking place today at the Dominic "Mimi" DiPietro Family Skating Center. They can show off their favorite friends for the competition and then enjoy the ice rink.
