Elizabeth T. Kratz, a homemaker, died of cancer Dec. 16 at the Fairhaven Retirement Community. The Towson resident was 87.

Born Elizabeth Coupland Page Trent in Dillwyn in Buckingham County, Va., she married the Rev. Charles Irvin Kratz, an Episcopal priest, in 1942.

She moved to Frostburg nearly 50 years ago and later relocated to Towson when her husband became rector of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church on Joppa Road. He later served at St. John's Episcopal Church in Glyndon.

Mrs. Kratz was a member of genealogical societies, including the Daughters of Cincinnati, and she was a secretary for the Descendants of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence.

She enjoyed travel by ship and had taken 36 cruises and three round-the-world trips.

Services were held Wednesday at St. John's Episcopal.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Charles I. Kratz III of Lorton, Va.; three daughters, Elizabeth Brownell of Glen Arm, Hazel Sloane of Chester, Va., and Margaret Ashton of Baltimore; a brother, Stephen W. Trent of Dillwyn; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
