A fire in Southeast Baltimore damaged a home early yesterday, fire officials said.

Firefighters were called to the 3100 block of Fait Ave. about 4 a.m. A fire official said no one was injured and that the fire was confined to the kitchen.

Charles Long Sr. said the house belonged to his 77-year-old mother, Margaret Long, and that his son and granddaughter also lived in the home. Charles Long, who lives on the same street, said he grew up in the burned house, and that it is nearly destroyed.

"We were supposed to have a Christmas party there [tonight] with the whole family," Long said. "Now we're going to have it here at my house. We're determined to have this party."
