The full moon that rises in the east at 4:14 this evening is known as the "Long Night Moon," or the "Moon Before Yule," for reasons that need no explanation. Astronomers say it will be precisely full at 8:15 p.m. EST. It's the 13th full moon of 2007. The new year will see only 12 full moons. One, on June 18, will be the fourth of the (spring) season, making it a true "blue moon" under the term's original definition.
