Horse racing -- Jess Jackson bought out a partner in the ownership of Breeders' Cup Classic and Preakness winner Curlin and now has an 80 percent interest in the 3-year-old colt. Jackson, the founder of the Kendall-Jackson Winery who owns Stonestreet Stables, bought out investment banker George Bolton, it was announced yesterday. Terms were not released. The sale leaves Jackson and his wife, Barbara Banke, as co-owners of Curlin with Midnight Cry Stables. While Curlin's racing future has yet to be determined, the breeding rights for the colt are estimated between $20 million and $30 million.
