Icelandair quitting BWI

Icelandair has become the latest international carrier to end service at Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. When the airline halts its Baltimore flights Jan. 13, six international carriers would remain at BWI. Icelandair will keep its North American headquarters in Columbia.

Homes sales fall about 30%

Home sales in metropolitan Baltimore tumbled again in November, the third consecutive month that sales have dropped about 30 percent. Prices also fell slightly as the market headed into the traditionally slow holiday selling season. The region's biggest decline was in Anne Arundel County, where sales skidded nearly 42 percent.

Under Armour to expand in city

Under Armour Inc. plans to add 350 employees at a site near its waterfront headquarters in Baltimore, significantly increasing its city work force at a time when it is aggressively pushing into new markets. The sports apparel company expects to open offices in a building used as a warehouse and freight terminal in Locust Point.

Amazon stake in Bill Me Later

Bill Me Later, an online service that lets shoppers buy without using a credit card, announced that Amazon.com Inc. bought an undisclosed piece of the privately held Timonium company. Amazon.com plans to offer the payment option on its Web site. Amazon.com becomes the first retailer to take a stake in Bill Me Later.

Cordish may bid on casino hotel

A gaming management company formed by Baltimore's Cordish Co. and a prominent gaming industry executive is considering whether to make an offer for the Tropicana Casino Hotel in Atlantic City, N.J. "We have been approached on multiple levels and are taking a very, very hard look," said David S. Cordish, chairman of the Cordish Co.
